What is Indian Police Service (IPS)?

Indian Police Service is an entrance exam for the Indian Police Service (IPS) and the All India Services. It is conducted every year. Syllabus

The syllabus in the IPS main exam is quite similar to that of previous preliminary exam (stage-I). Candidates will be tested on general intelligence & reasoning, numerical ability, general awareness, current affairs and intelligence quotient. While the questions of stage-I were based on the past year question papers, stage-II will be about the years from 2009 onwards. Questions from the stage-I of stage-II will be asked again in stage-II and a few new questions will also be asked in the second stage of the exam. The key subject of stage-II will be English.
